What the Bible says about “Time management”?
As Christians, we are not to deal with our time a similar way the world deals with theirs. We should ensure that we look for God in all that we do. We are to sort out our time and plan admirably for what’s to come.
We are to deal with the main assignments first. We should look to do God’s will every day and every moment.
Consistently think about the word of God and allow God to control your life. Everything in this life will vanish. Do not focus your attention on the things of the world but on the thing above.
Think about eternal life soon in Heaven, which will lead to managing your time better and doing God’s will. Always remember that every minute counts. Try not to sit around idly.
Bible verses about “Time management”.
Hope these Bible verses will help you think and use your time wisely, for the things above and not on the things on Earth.
Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
Colossians 4:5
We need to be diligent, alert and smart, looking opportunities to tell others about Christ. We should be more loving and creative than ever before in our interactions with nonbelievers, making the most of our opportunities to share Christ’s love.
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:15-17
Paul was communicating his sense of urgency because of evil’s pervasiveness. We need the same sense of urgency because our days are difficult. We must keep our standards high according to God’s design, act wisely and do good whenever we can.
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18
We need to set our hope on the things above and on the life that we will have soon in Heaven, and not on our life here on Earth. Knowing that we will live forever with God in a place without sin and suffering can help us live above the pain that we face in this life.
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
James 4:14
Life is short no matter how long we live, and no one knows the length of his or her life. So don’t be deceived into thinking that you have lots of remaining time to live for Christ, to enjoy your loved ones, or to do what know you should. Love for Good today! Then, no matter when your life ends, you will have fulfilled God’s plan for you.
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Romans 13:11-12
When Christ returns, He wants to find His people clean on the inside and outside. He wants to find us faithful. No one knows when Jesus will return but we need to be ready at all times. Let us walk honestly with Christ and we have to observe whatever we put on.
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Matthew 4:17
Time is at hand. The kingdom of heaven is near, it will live in the heart of every person who comes to believe in Jesus (Luke 17:21). Those who are without Christ, are in the dark.
But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God. My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.
Psalms 31:14-15
David was expressing his belief that all of life’s circumstances are under God’s control. Knowing that God loves and cares for us enables us to keep steady in our faith regardless of our circumstances. It keeps us from sinning foolishly by taking matters into our own hands or resenting God’s timetable.
But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
1 Peter 4:7
We should live expectantly because Christ is coming again. Getting ready to meet Him involves continually growing in love for God and for others (see Jesus’ summary of the law in Matthew 22:37-40). To be prepared, we should pray regularly and reach out to people who are in need. Your possessions, status, and power will remain nothing in God’s Kingdom, but you will spend eternity with other people. Invest your time and talents where they will make an eternal difference.
Let us make use of our time wisely, spend it for God’s glory. Every minute counts, spend time wisely – Time management.
